The radar part of the module will introduce the basic concepts of radar and examine various types of commercial and military radar system in common use. The application of radar and other methods in airborne navigation and landing systems will be discussed. Throughout the module emphasis will be placed on ‘first-order’ analysis techniques in order to reduce the use of advanced mathematics. The module aims to explore robotic systems, both historically and as an area of rapid contemporary development.
